If you know of other good gunsmiths or armorers, please let us know.

Armorers are a-plenty, but a good gunsmith is hard to find.

Q: What's the difference  between an armorer and a gunsmith?
A:  An armorer can repair and replace gun parts.  To be a gunsmith, one must
possess skills as a mechanic, a metalworker, a woodworker, be an artisan, be knowledgeable in shop mathematics, ballistics, and chemistry, and be capable of working accurately and precisely. Those who are self-employed in small gunsmith shops must also possess skills as small business operators, work effectively with a wide variety of customers, and keep abreast of, and comply with, federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, and requirements. (See Wikipedia)

If someone tells you he is a "gunsmith," look at his shop. If he has a work bench, a vise, some hand tools, and a few books, he may be an armorer, but most likely not a gunsmith. If his shop looks like this, he is most likely what he says he is - a gunsmith.

Do you want to learn how to work on your own guns?  Here is a good source:
American Gunsmithing Institute sells DVDs for a wide variety of firearms. You'd be surprised how much you can do yourself . Of course, if you screw up, you'll need to take your gun to:

A. Nelson Muntz
B. Gun Store Clerk
C. Gunsmith
D. Rosie O'Donnell

???????????????????????????

Hold and scroll your left mouse button down over the blank area below for answer:

No. What were you thinking?  The correct answer is D. Rosie O'Donnell.  Take your old gun and personally deliver it to Ms. O'Donnell. The sight of the evil gun will so terrify her that she will wet her size 5XL panties. Snap a few digital photos and sell them to Paparazzi Pete at the Enquirer, so that you can buy a brand new gun !
