Without a CCW permit, you will be charged a $25.00 fee at the point of sale for the background check that must be performed every time you buy a gun , new or used, from a licensed dealer. It is a "pass through" fee that goes through the dealer to the State of Nevada. The dealer does not profit from the background check. In fact, it is as much of a nuisance to him as it is to you, the customer.  With a CCW permit, no background check is performed  and thus, the fee is not charged. You save $25.00 EVERY time you buy a gun. In addition, having a CCW permit makes the gun dealer happier, because he has less work to do, and he can complete your transaction more quickly and efficiently. No waiting on the phone with the ATF for approval to sell you the gun. Your permit is accepted in lieu of the background check because in order to get your CCW permit, you already had to submit to and pass a state and federal background check.
